Who all is going? For the locals, I see the following are already registered:

Andrew Majors
Dan Clouse
Ed Anderson
Jacob Eaton
James Donis
Michael Lindsay
Silas Bundrock

Plus six out-of-towners, leaving eleven slots open. If anybody wants to join but doesn't have enough little dudes, we can arrange loaner forces.

I am goingto see how much painting I can get done tonight and if it's "enough", then I may go. Looks like my June folio is very very good with a last second surge of productivity. Coupling that with the refinance on our house (woo hoo for saving $300 a month!), it looks like money is no longer the issue it was going to be... for June. I am so far behind on paint and modeling that its gonna be an all nighter to see if I can do it. But then, I perform best when I'm undr pressure! Personality flaw I guess. Always waiting to the last minute...

Game 1: "The Shoe Car Incident"
Andrew, the architect of my most recent defeat before the tournament ended up being my first opponent (of course). It was a case of too much terrain blocking too many lines of sight for two forces who could not easily reach one another. The Shoe Car he has will likely be bronzed and dubbed a hero of his army however for its bravery in battle, singularly providing all his offense and it was plenty impactful. We ran out of time with BOTH our armies poised to strike decisive blows. 2-2

Game 2: The Price of a Mile.
Wyatts force was primarily tanks, surrounding me from all sides with a token infantry group in case he ended up on defense (would be my guess). Unfortunately his force had to deploy in or move through terrain bottle necks. This made him a ripe target for bombardment and PaK40 gunfire and the 88's were no kinder to his mostly trained forces. He was forced to capitulate and surrender to the German forces. He did almost kill a platoon that got too sparky with him but their resolve held. 6-1.

Game3: Where...is...everyone?
Ah delayed reserves, how we hate thee. Al played against me in the scattered Reserves mission and he chose to start with his infantry on and his artillery off the board coming in from the sides. This allowed me to slow him and damage him enough that he couldn't reach the objectives and when my reserves reluctantly decided to start coming in on turn SIX (the rolls were...not good as he closed in on me with his big blob), I was able to then kill the cannonades on one side and his M10's who had snuck up to steal victory from me on the other. It was a bold stroke by him at the end with the M10's but I had just enough to repel them. 6-1

Game 4: Russian Storm of Steel.
I played against the eventual Best Allied General Award winner in this game. His MASSIVE tank assault was like something from the history books of the late Eastern Front, only mid-war style. His goal was to give me one good turn at him and then wash over me like a tidal wave. Sadly, his T70's (I think that's what they were) got bombed by the copious artillery barrages I fired off, bailing or killing all but two, and he lost the platoon to a morale check despite being Fearless. Making matters worse, his successful charge on my Grenadiers by his shoe cars ended in disaster when he rolled 3 1's for armor and I rolled three 6's for Fire Power! In the next round, the HS129B killed his Company commander while the artillery and now PaK40's started in on his much tougher Assault guns and other tanks until they could sustain no more losses. 5-2

Game 5: The O.K. Corral
Michael played me in turn 5, and the winner would most likely win the tourney (given the usual provisos of sportmanship etc...). In this game, it turned bloody. I couldn't dig in any troops and this cost me dearly as he advanced with almost his entire force. My HS129B took out his Machine gun squad and several units were in serious peril, but I couldn't seem to get position on the easiest kills and his toughest kills were shoving themselves down my throat pretty good. In the end, we both lost the game (3-1 his favor) because in the end I just could NOT pop the final members of several units. The devastation on both sides WAS impressive though. Michael won the Best Axis General award by, I think, two points thanks to his impressive early victories.

Thanks to all my opponents who put up a hell of a fight. See you next year?

Did the results get posted or updated somewhere? Just checking.

NM, I found the results. Yahoo! 2nd out of 14. Not a bad showing at all. I feel pretty good about that.
