40k Mechanized Mayhem Tournament at CCC at 4/15/17

Postby Morendie » Sun Mar 12, 2017 6:54 pm

So Gabby is hosting a 1,000pt tournament at the store for a friend who is taking a trip to vietnam (Donations go towards that)

Entry: $15
Format: 1000 point game. 4x6 Battlefield. No Scenario.

Large models are encouraged. To this end you may ignore normal army building rules to bring the big boys in to play. Want to play with that Warhound that has been sitting on the shelf? bring it. Always wanted to run a fleet of land raiders? Do it. That special phalanx of monoliths you always wanted to try? Go for it. If it involves large models and fits within the 1000 points go for it. You do have to stay legal within your faction so no fielding an Imperial Knight with a bunch of Tyranids or similar silliness.

Armies with large models will be granted a single reroll of their dice per game.

Armies should be painted to at least the GW minimum (3 colors and based). No one will be kept from playing if their army is not painted though. Painted Armies will be given a single reroll. This reroll stacks with the large model reroll, capping rerolls at 2.

Each game will have 1 hour to play. At the end of the hour points will be scored as follow: 2 points for a victory, 1 point for a tie, 0 points for a loss. A victory is defined as having destroyed at least 75% of your opponents force without losing that much of your own force. If both players have lost 75% or more of their force or neither has reached that point the game is ruled a tie.

Swiss rounds will be used and the tournament will consist of at least 3 rounds.

The winner receives a fully painted Tau Stormsurge. There will also be a prize for best painted army. this prize will be a fully painted Garros. Both of these models are currently on display in a display case on the game side of the shop.

EDIT:

We got some good news from CCC!
"Hey Folks!!!
We just got word from Games Workshop that they are kicking down the Aquila Flag (that you can normally only get at GW Stores) and a copy of any 1 of the Start Collecting Sets. Thanks Daniel D! If there is someone who could get this posted on Warsound for Andre that would be super great and helpful!!"

Edit:
Unbound is now legal

So my friend said it will start at 10:30, and with the points available, bring the biggest, baddest stuff you can. He is thinking of stuff like a titan vs 2 imperial knights. So think of the most OP thing you can bring. xD

Making it ITC would be wise for attendence. 2 WraithKnights can go in 1000 points so.... just saying...

So can like... 33 Scatter bikes if youre not a WraithKnight fan. I could go on but the point is made.

In the name of fun, he might want to temper it? Or not.

I went in and played a couple games with him and talked to him about it, and thats what he is wanting. He wants people to bring there big bads, no force organization, he wants people to be able to use those big badass models you may not bring out very often. So you don't HAVE to bring one, but that is the kind of stuff to expect. If its super strong and you can bring it in under 1k points, have at it.

Fair enough. I actually own no Super heavies except the Storm Surge, which can most definitely be torrented down and torn apart in melee. Probably wont make this one. I want pictures though just so i can see what sort of insanity ends up being taken.

Unfortunately I won't be there to take any pics. I work on fri, sat, and sunday. So I can never go to stuff like this :/
