So here is my first squad painted in over two years. Would love some feed back. Sorry for the poor image quality my phone takes terrible pictures

Close up on the Force Halberd. Base coat of khorne red with gold and orange highlights to make it gleam with holy fire.

more close ups. All in all very happy with them. Especially for just getting back into it. I really dislike the standard Grey Knight color scheme so it was nice to break out of that a bit. Next in line for painting is my dreadknight!

Not bad for your first squad in a few years... Two suggestions... Try using shades and edge highlights... Will step up your game to a level you didn't know was possible... Also your green on the bases seems like it doesn't belong... Could benefit from a shade and dry brushing...

The bases caught my attention as well. Perhaps a second base material? Generally at tournies (the ones with rubric's) want to see at least 2-3 basing materials ANYWAYS so it can only help. I'd try grass flocking right where the green is?

The green spots on the bases were meant to be there. Was going for daemon world look. Good call on the edging. I did do some but looking at the pictures my phone camera didn't catch it. I would definitely appreciate some tips on shading though!

Can't go wrong with the current line of citadel shades. Having painted models on and off for the better part of my life and I can say they get the best results of any shades/washes I have worked with.

My recommendation, for future units anyway, would be to base with leadbelcher or boltgun or whatever your "steel/dark silver" color is, apply a pretty liberal nuln oil shade, and then bring out your details with a light handed drybrush of necron compound, or edge highlight with runefang steel. THEN pick out all your other details/colors... this will prevent any silver drybrushing from making the model look like it just lived through a glitter bombing.

Thanks for the shade advice! I despise the grey knight color scheme as it is boring but termies are black base coated and regular power armor will be The Fang a blue gray base with silver highlights.

No updates on the terminators yet. Staryed painting my dreadknight since he did auch am amazing job last game. 2 soul grinders were exploded and a pack of traitor marines on bikes torched all by himself.

These are the results one expects from a Dread Knight. because he's dread. Duh.
